CREATING AWARENESS AND WELFARE IN RURAL VILLAGES

Kamwenge initiative for development organization (KIDO) was founded in 2005, by a few Kahunge residents in kahunge sub county. These members took an initiative to address social and economic challenges among its members.
It should be noted that it started as a small nonprofit association in the names of Kahunge development association limited by guarantee. It was later transformed into Kamwenge initiative for development 0rganisation. After reflecting on the plight of marginalized groups mainly children, women and men who were poverty stricken. There was a need to address the identified community problems of abject poverty, food insecurity, child abuse, HIV/AIDS, environmental degradation and climate change.
Since its inception, the NGO has progressed to transform the society by “improving people’s livelihood through sustainable agricultural transformation” with a bias to reduce abject poverty.
MISSION.
To have “a fully economically empowered community able to have a participatory integrated and self-sustaining poverty alleviation programs, to Improve people’s livelihood through sustainable agricultural transformation, health care for the children, champion and advocate for the Human rights of the poor people and to achieve sustainable development.
VISION.
To have an economically empowered society transformation through agricultural modernization and reduce rural abject poverty.
Objectives.
• To demonstrate and proliferate better agricultural practices among the community to enhance productivity of agricultural products and transform subsistence farming to modern farming practices
• To enter into partnership or co-operation with other interest groups, or memorandum of understanding with development partners or otherwise any group institutions or organizations engaged or about to be engaged in activities similar to those of KIDO of which are supportive of its objective.
• To promote the status of the community through participatory integrated and self-sustaining poverty alleviation Programs.
• Mobilize resources for community development Programs that will facilitate social and economic emancipation and human dignity
